Thousands Across Ireland Unite in Rosary Rallies Against the Indifference and Evils of Modern Society

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DUBLIN, IRELAND – May 10th, 2025 – Thousands of Catholics participated in widespread Rosary rallies across Ireland today, organised by Irish Society for Christian Civilisation (ISFCC) and its campaign, Ireland Needs Fatima. These public displays of faith, held in 580 locations nationwide, aimed to address the evils of our present day society and the growing moral crisis.

The significant turnout demonstrated a powerful sense of unity and purpose in the ongoing fight against the evils of present day society. As Rosary Rally coordinator Gregory Murphy stated, “Today, we had over 10,000 people in nearly 600 public locations united and standing up to society’s growing wave of indifference and evil.”

Bernadette Smyth, director of Precious Life, wrote from a Rosary Rally in Ballymena that “In an age of chaos and confusion, Rosary rallies stand as beacons of peace and unity—drawing down grace, awakening faith, and reminding the world that hope is born when hearts turn to prayer.”

The rallies are organised as a way to respond to the deepening spiritual battle being waged for society. Stressing this point, Gregory further explained, “As the devil tries to destroy the innocence of children, and the lumen rationis (light of reason) of mankind, we gather with Our Lady, Acies Ordinata, as it says in the bible, that is, resplendent in battle array. With her, we have the certainty of victory!”

These public square rosary rallies are organised throughout Ireland in conjunction with a broader, global movement. “We pray that these Rosary Rallies in Ireland, as well as the thousands more being organised by our sister groups in North America and Africa, serve as a trumpet call to Catholics and hasten Our Lady’s Triumph as she promised at Fatima,” said Gregory, highlighting the rallies’ spiritual significance.

The rallies held in Dublin and across Ireland reflect the spirit of the America Needs Fatima campaign, which organises over 20,000 such events annually in the United States during October. It also reflects a growing recognition of the Rosary’s importance and the need for public reparation for all the public evils promoted today in society such as abortion and transgenderism, as Bernadette Smyth, notes: “Rosary rallies are powerful in our time because they echo the urgent call of Our Lady of Fatima—to pray, repent, and seek peace through her Immaculate Heart. In gathering publicly to pray the Rosary, we answer her plea and help bring about the triumph she foretold.”
