From 7th-17th March, volunteers of Irish Society for Christian Civilisation launched an epic leafleting campaign in the lead up to St. Patrick’s feastday, the patron saint of Ireland.
Very symbolically, these volunteers and friends of Ireland Needs Fatima began on the Hill of Slane where St. Patrick began his apostolic work. In the following days, close to 40,000 leaflets on St. Patrick and the Four Last Things were distributed throughout the country with the help of dedicated volunteers. 15,000 of those leaflets were distributed around Dublin. Many went through peoples’ letterboxes though some were also distributed on O’Connell Street to the public.
In these street campaigns, the volunteers flew the TFP standard and wore the red capes with the TFP rampant lion.
March 17th – St. Patrick’s Feastday
On the 17th of March, over 250 Catholic faithful from around Ireland participated in a St. Patrick’s Procession. Starting at the Garden of Remembrance, the participants processed down Marlborough St., crossed the River Liffey and ended at St. Stephen’s Green, all the while praying the Rosary and singing hymns to Our Lady. A statue of Our Lady of Fatima led the procession. Despite harassing and taking the names of several people at the Garden of Remembrance, the Gardaí escorted the procession, stopping traffic and clearing the way.
The day concluded with a reminder of why they had marched. “The procession is the honour St. Patrick and to ask God, through St. Patrick’s intercession, that our churches be reopened, and that Ireland return to the Catholic Faith.” With the help of God and His Mother, Ireland will convert once again to the True Faith.
