Volunteers of the Irish Society for Christian Civilisation (ISFCC) have once again embarked on an epic crusade to defend moral values. This time, the topic is the current SPHE curriculum’s anti-Catholic aspects.
Our Mission
With more people being aware of the dangers of this curriculum, it is a good opportunity for us to encourage a good reaction and introduce the moral dimension into the public debate. The caravan is under the patronage of Saint Aloysius Gonzaga, the patron Saint of youth and purity. #
We ask you, dear reader, to pray for this campaign to Our Lady, Mother Most Pure, so that the SPHE curriculum will be purified of immorality and Ireland will be completely restored as a land of Saints and scholars.

Prayerful Preparation
The first half of Monday was filled with preparation and practice. Our volunteers began the caravan on the Hill of Slane, the place where Saint Patrick began his apostolate on the Emerald Isle, a most appropriate place for starting our tour.

Afterwards, the volunteers made their way to Cork. The volunteers went to Mass and met some like-minded Catholics who supported the campaign and signed the petition.
On the street: Support and Opposition
Tuesday morning, we campaigned in Daunt Square in Cork City. During the campaign, the volunteers handed out hundreds of leaflets, played music, and gathered signatures for the petition to the Minister for Education, an online version of which you can find here.

Young volunteer explains the petition.
To say that the campaign was intense would be an understatement. Many debates took place, and a counter-protest emerged in the blink of an eye. Chants such as “when trans rights are under attack, stand up, fight back” were used by the counter-protesters, but that did not hinder the volunteers. Arguments of the left included the accusation of judging and four-letter expletives. At one point, after Mr. Damien Murphy proclaimed the invocations of Saints, one of the protesters blasphemously prayed to famous homosexuals.

However, with the grace of Our Lady, the volunteers’ arguments and powerful slogans, such as “SPHE teaches sin, throw this curriculum into the bin,” reduced the opposition to rubble.

The volunteers then split into two groups and did shorter campaigns in nearby cities. One group campaigned in Ballincollig and the other travelled to Cobh. The response to both groups was overwhelmingly positive. Despite the short time, many petitions were signed, and many good people were encouraged.
To finish off the day, the volunteers joined forces once again. This time, they went door-to-door in a housing estate, asking for petition signatures. The band played music as pairs of volunteers knocked on doors and got people to sign the petition. The response was again excellent. One household we visited was very enthusiastic. The youth were very critical of LGBT ideology in schools.
One lady told us that her friends had received the leaflet from us earlier that day in Cork city. A volunteer had told her about our work, and she was delighted to see us again in her housing estate.
